Auto-Immune Diseases

Many skin diseases result from an immune response that has been misdirected to skin structures.

Lupus, scleroderma, morphea, Sjogren's Syndrome, vasculitis, pemphigus, and bullous and cicatricial pemphigoid are a few of the diseases in this group.

These diseases can be hard to diagnose accurately.  Often, several biopsies and blood tests are needed to reach a firm diagnosis.
